Aircraft Carrying Pete Hegseth Forced to Touch Down in UK Due to Fracture in Cockpit Window
A plane transporting the US defense secretary was compelled to make an emergency landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a crack was found in the aircraft's cockpit window, per an official statement which confirmed that the secretary was unharmed.
"The aircraft landed in accordance with standard procedures and all passengers, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a spokesperson said in a public statement.
He was traveling back from a short visit to Brussels when the incident occurred.
This incident is not the first time that a United States armed forces jet carrying a top government figure has encountered mechanical issues.
Months ago, a US Air Force plane carrying the US Secretary of State to the German city of Munich was compelled to turn back to Washington after experiencing a mechanical fault.
