The British player advanced to round three in three out of four Grand Slam events in the current campaign.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain has pulled out of her remaining competitions this season because of a health issue she has been battling for the last week and a half.

Raducanu, aged 22 had planned to participate in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but has decided to fly home to recover prior to beginning next year's training.

Her upcoming training will involve her coach Francisco Roig, as the pair have decided to continue collaborating again next season.

The tennis professional had her blood pressure taken while playing the initial match with Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and stopped playing when losing 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

She needed once more medical attention at this week's Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to local wildcard Zhu Lin in the opening round.

Her movement was with clear difficulty in the final set versus Zhu because of a lower back issue that has been a concern at times this year.

Such performances signaled a promising season, in which Raducanu rose into the world's top 30 for the first time since her previous ranking, concluded with three straight losses.

Raducanu had three match points prior to falling to American player Jessica Pegula in the third stage in last month's Beijing event.

The player achieved 28 matches in the current season and advanced to the semis in Washington, but the highlight of her season was at the Miami event in March.

As Britain's top player reached the quarter-finals of a premier WTA event, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro on the way before losing in three sets to Pegula, ranked fourth.

She worked with Mark Petchey as coach from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig taking over ahead of the US Open.

The initial agreement with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was until the end of the season but the partnership will continue, with a training block pencilled in for the end of the year.

She mentioned that her three-day trial with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

The player was close to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in August's Cincinnati tournament.

Roig was also with Raducanu in the New York tournament, where she reached the third round then falling to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
