The children's author David Walliams dropped by publishing house.

The comedian

Prolific young adult author and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, the company has said.

An official for the company said: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the decision was reached following an investigation into reports of questionable actions involving young women.

The publisher declined to specify the reasons for its decision, stating: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.

His bibliography includes more than 40 books altogether, encompassing a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.

From Screen to Page

His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
