The Initial Xbox Game Pass Additions of 2026 Reveal Xbox Remains Committed.
Across the gaming landscape, enthusiasts continue to ring the funeral bells for the Xbox brand. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a relatively obscure console. Dedicated Xbox communities have started writing on PS5 topics as a new development. Last year proved to be an era of significant turmoil for the Xbox ecosystem. But if we're going solely off the titles headed to the service in 2026, it's evident that Microsoft continues to plan to attract subscribers with quality releases on its key platform.
The Current Inclusions
A pair of titles you can play right now today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. The true anticipation is for the upcoming titles to Game Pass soon that's truly noteworthy.
Upcoming Headline Games
On Jan. 13, the platform will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, a sprawling adventure that deviates from typical Ubisoft design with a space-faring criminal escapade. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village featuring the towering Lady Dimitrescu, previously described as "a superb mixture of horror and action."
Noteworthy Smaller Games
Yet, the less-hyped additions arriving shortly on the service deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler that is incredibly fun, arrives January 7th — and you should try it even if you missed out on the first Lost in Random game.
The British post-apocalyptic game from last year could captivate you within just a quarter of an hour.
Atomfall, a game blending infiltration and resource management by the makers of Sniper Elite, is another one to watch. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.
A Solid, Curated Lineup
In summary, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, and they are also not tentpole Microsoft studios games that justify the service by themselves. Yet, this selection are exceptionally strong. It offers a healthy blend of past releases that passed you by and relatively recent releases that lacked the recognition they warranted upon launch — which makes them excellent choices to experience a revival on Game Pass.
You might need to brace yourself to part ways with The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
