The New Animated Series' Opening Sequence Selected the Incorrect Popular RPG Show Song

This latest animated series, the most recent animated adventure by the beloved role-playing group, unveiled a new introductory sequence. It features our favorite group of outcasts, misfits, and rogues kicking ass and making their mark, while teasing at several agonizing personal histories for key figures including the voice actor's mage Caleb, and Travis Willingham's warlock orc, Fjord.

All in all, the opening appears amazing. But I couldn't help feeling that something was lost in the music selection.

The intro employs "Welcome to Wildemount", a truly stellar composition created by artist the talented musician. This piece originating from the official score of the same name, the second one released by the production company's music division their music brand. It's a great sentimental option, and I believe that fans of the second campaign will love its inclusion.

Personally, The series' opening fails to capture the excitement and energy that was part of the show's live-play sessions. "It's Your Turn", composed by musician Jason Charles Miller, became an immediate hit in my view when it was first revealed in that year, and it only got better when cast member the performer wrote words to the tune for the series' animated intro in 2018.

Featuring vocals from one actress, another performer, Travis Willingham, as well as the writer, the song was memorable and enjoyable. Back then, I hadn't even watched the second campaign yet, but this was such an earworm that I kept it on my phone. It's a song that excites you before you start an installment of adventurous fun.

The Mighty Nein's opening with "the new song" doesn't strike the same chords in my opinion. It's a grand piece of music, but from what I know of this party, I can't help but feel that its tone is somewhat mismatched.

Naturally, the creators has already said that the series will have some changes and differences from the actual-play campaign. An adjusted mood for its intro seems to be one of them.

The Mighty Nein will be released on the streaming service from November 19. For those eager until then, or want a head start to learn about the characters of the second series, the actual play are available on Spotify and YouTube.
