Two Charged Regarding Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident
Formal charges have been brought against two men related to a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be capsaicin spray caused injuries at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of administering a noxious substance, authorities have stated.
This legal action stems from an investigation into an attack at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their suitcases stolen after exiting a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.
A toddler was among those injured during the incident. Five people were taken to a medical facility and were subsequently released.
This event – which authorities stated was not part of a series and not being treated as terrorism – led to train delays and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a short time.
